Vroesenpark
Festivals and relaxation in Vroesenpark
Vroesenpark is a popular urban park in the Blijdorp neighbourhood, north of Rotterdam city centre.
Its large lawns and walking paths make it a favourite place for local residents to walk, exercise, have a picnic or simply relax outdoors.
The park also has playground and sports equipment, two ponds and plenty of open space, making it a pleasant place to spend a few hours with family or friends.

Sport, picnics and events
Vroesenpark is especially lively when the weather is good. Its large lawns are used for sports, picnics and gatherings with friends.
You will also often see people taking part in outdoor activities such as yoga, fitness training and other sports.
Throughout the year, the park regularly hosts festivals and other events, making it one of the liveliest meeting places in this part of Rotterdam on certain days.
In the heart of the park you will also find the Vroesenpaviljoen, with a terrace where you can stop for something to eat or drink.
A park with a long history
Vroesenpark was originally laid out in 1929 as an ornamental park. After the Second World War it was redesigned as a more practical recreational park, with greater emphasis on open lawns, play areas and activities for local residents.
Since 1977, it has officially been known as Vroesenpark, a name connected with the historic Vroesen family of Rotterdam.
