Cannabis rules and legality in the Netherlands

Although many people believe that soft drugs are legal in the Netherlands, the reality is more complex.

The sale of cannabis and cannabis products remains illegal, but the authorities tolerate the sale of small quantities by coffeeshops provided they comply with certain rules:
