De Rotterdam

De Rotterdam building, standing at a height of 150 meters, is one of the largest buildings in the Netherlands. It consists of three towers, each with 44 floors, on top of a massive pedestal building that is 30 meters tall with six floors. The towers are staggered at the 22nd floor.

Designed by OMA as a vertical city, this building has office spaces (60,000 m²), 240 residences, a four-star hotel with 285 rooms, a restaurant and conference center, a gym, and a car park with 650 spaces. The residential floors are in the West Tower, while the offices are in the central and upper part of the East Tower. The lower section of the tower is used by the hotel.

De Rotterdam complex

The first six floors of the building are for parking and other shared facilities.

The building is named after one of the ships of the Holland America Line that departed from the Wilhelmina pier several decades ago, heading to New York.

The facades are mainly made of precast elements that span from floor to ceiling and are 1.8 meters wide. The west facade is different and has balconies on the residential floors.

A significant portion of the office space is used by the Rotterdam Municipality.

Around 5,000 people use De Rotterdam daily.
