Dordrecht

Dordrecht is a city with a population of 119,000 inhabitants, situated 26 kilometers southeast of Rotterdam.

It is one of the oldest and most picturesque ports in the Netherlands. Its splendid location at the confluence of three rivers has historically positioned it as a prominent commercial and industrial center.

In 1421, the St. Elisabeth flood submerged a significant part of southern Holland, transforming Dordrecht into an island.

The city boasts over 800 national and municipal monuments. To the south of the island begins the Biesbosch area, a natural labyrinth of marshes and canals, perfect for leisurely walks.
